The spirit of competition and community was in full bloom this past Saturday, 18 April, as Potjesberg played host to our annual Sports Day. Bringing together athletes and enthusiasts from across the region, the day was a resounding success, defined by narrow margins, brilliant weather, and even better company.
This year’s event showcased talent across three beloved disciplines: Golf, Lawn Bowls, and Tennis. Whether on the fairways, the greens, or the courts, the energy was electric from the first whistle to the final putt.
The Main Events
On the Fairways (Golf)
The golf course provided a stern but fair test for our players. We saw some incredible drives and high-pressure putting throughout the morning.
On the Green (Lawn Bowls)
Precision and tactics were the names of the game at the bowling green. The atmosphere was a perfect blend of competitive focus and friendly banter.
On the Court (Tennis)
The tennis courts saw some intense rallies and impressive displays of stamina. The finals, in particular, kept the spectators on the edge of their seats.
A Night to Remember
As the sun dipped below the horizon, the focus shifted from the scoreboard to the dinner table. The evening function was the perfect "19th hole" for the day's festivities. Guests enjoyed a spectacular dinner that was as much a highlight as the sports themselves—providing the perfect opportunity to recap the day's best shots and "almost" moments.
